The Average Tourist 

Brand Photography & Brand Identity 

Sara is The Average Tourist. With her blog and YouTube Channel she helps the average traveller get the most out of their vacation. Our goal for her photo session was to capture professional headshots and some of the behind the scenes tasks suchs as planning, editing videos and recording voice overs.

While planning her photo session, Sara mentioned how she wanted to change up her branding a little. While her previous brand identity focused on air travel to tropical destinations, she is shifting her focus to incorporate a variety of locations including some closer to home and she needed brand visuals to represent that. 

We started with adding a few new colours to her existing teal, including a vibrant and fun yellow. Inspired by midcentury road-side motels, we created a logo that evoked the feeling of being on the road. Adding submarks with custom geometric shapes to compliment the border on the logo tied it together. It was important to Sara that we adapted the logo to look amazing over a video on her YouTube channel and we were able to provide her with an alternate logo just for that purpose. We look forward to creating more magic for The Average Tourist!
